Last time I went in, it was $40 to get my tpms programmed to my car.
They just hold a scanner next to each wheel to get the codes, then program them to your car.
The only thing dealerships give you for free, is a cup of coffee while you're waiting. :P

I have sensors that work 100%. They clone your original sensors check out the link in my signature or read this thread-

Anyone know if our TPMS sensor and valve can be dissembled. I have a small hole in the stem and the guy at the shop said if it is the type that can be taken apart he can fix it for about $10 bucks in parts but if not then its like $100 for the whole sensor.

Also if it can be replaced he recommends putting in a all rubber one rather then the aluminium ones that come standard. The price is only a few bucks cheaper but he said the hold up better to corrosion and there is no seal to go bad. Any thoughts?

Quick reply would be appreciated so I can stop inflating my tier every other day. HAHA

Is your car still under warranty? If so, I would take it back to the dealer.

No, its out of warranty. And this is my second issue. One of the other ones, I was cleaning and snap. the stem just broke in 2. I replaced the whole thing then but not sure I needed to.

You can dissemble the sensor. the only parts that are dissembled is the metal screw that holds the sensor to the wheel and rubber seal under it. Batteries are seal inside the sensor and cannot be removed. rebuild kits are called service packs or service kits.

What small hole are you talking about? if there is a small hole in the stem. you will need a new sensor. the only sensor i know where you can change the whole stem are rubber ones that chevy has and metal ones that comes on hondas. for the hondas its just 1 whole metal stem that has a screw into the sensor.

here is a link pic:
http://dillaircontrols.com/dill/tpms...lloy%29--09-13

this is what the separate stem looks like Vs-950 is rubber that goes for chevy and 1096 is whats for some hondas.
http://dillaircontrols.com/dill/cate...ve-caps-cores/

the lancers we have dont have a separate stem replacement as far as i know. the site listed a separate stem part number. but iv never seen it.

dill has options for 08-10 and 10-13. they are the same sensor.

the pic on right is what comes in a service pack.
http://dillaircontrols.com/dill/tpms...-Lancer--08-10

the guy telling you to put rubber ones instead of metals ones. hes full of ****. it depends on the sensor. there isnt a rubber that can replace a metal one. look at this chevy sensor
http://dillaircontrols.com/dill/tpms...alanche--07-13

it attaches in a different way.

Thanks for the info. He did say he wasn't sure if it could be repaired or not until he took it off. he probably doesn't know that which makes can and cant.

I am not sure if it is an actual whole or a leaky seal. just that it is coming from the stem area ( i believe the base). hopefully it is just the seal otherwise I am in for another TPMS. That makes 2 of 4 haha.

Also if I am understanding you correctly. When I broke my other stem I could have just gotten the service pack and not the new sensor? Great HAHA

Any recommendations on shops with good prices? Monro (where I was) wanted like $105. I think my other one I got for about $90 from Conrad's ( I large regional chain in NE Ohio.

Anyone have experience servicing the TPMS before. I don't know crap about these sensors Tried calling another shop and they said they can do it but most time the sensors crack and they have to be replaced anyhow.

Lol I was giving too much info.

Just assume with our evos, that if the stem breaks, you need to change the whole sensors.

Sensors crack? Sensors don't crack on their own. They crack when tires are not installed properly with the sensor in mind. The installer knows what he is doing you will have no problems with the sensors.

Sensors last 5years.

I notice you can buy them on RockAuto.com for as little as $40 , and you can also get a kit of clone-able sensors that take on the same IDs as your OEM sensors.

....still not cheap tho

Actually they do crack. The metal stems get corroded and crack and leak. Mine have. And Chrysler actually switched to rubber stems with the sensor to fixt this issue.
