I suspect you'll have to roll the fenders.

In the link that in the 2nd post, he had 18x7.5 rims, don't know the tires, with +38 offset and a 5mm spacer, it was close, even without spacer, it was close, but didn't rub anything, but it did rub on 10mm spacer. Thats why I'm trying to find a tire thats good with 17x7.5 with around +38 to +35 offset to be safe for both the calipers, fenders and struts.

im running 205/55/16. my rim is 16x7. i ran 3mm spacers and i was rubbing in the back if i went up a ramp. the front is fine. i recommend you roll your fenders. their pretty cheap to get done too.

If you're worried about fitment, go with a 215 tire.

lowest i think anyone would suggest for our cars would be +30 offset, and rolled fenders depending on tires and how low your car is.. but standard FWD offsets are always best suggestion!

if your wanting 15s.. you could still use 205-215/55-50/15's with more then likely no problems at all with +30.. would be pretty agressive looking setup. but i wouldnt suggest anything over 7 inchs wide unless you have a good reason why you need it.

16 inch rims you could do about the same size tires, might go down to 45s if you want the car low, but you would still need a coilover system, and a complete adjustment on your alignment. but people have differences in what they like..

most 16x7 lancers that i have seen that were pretty low all had 205/45/ and 215/45 16s.. but they were slammed with coilover or sleeves, i think our lancers look awsome slammed, but most dont have the guts to do it because people dont want to damage there body at all..

if you havea coilover setup. get what YOU want, and redo your coilover setup to he best stance for the new rims/tire combo..
street tires, anything under a 45 depth will be prone to damage to the wheels from curb and pot hole damage (very very common) so you would need to be carefull on the street, but that all depends on where you live and how you drive, and how lucky you are.

ideally 16x7 (standard FWD offset) w/ 205/50/16 tires, would be my suggestion for a normal stock lancer upgrade, if you want a specific agressive tire, 215/50s for just a little bit more tire. if you want to lower the crap out of your car the 205/50's would be good, but if you want it even better fit 205/45s and 215/45s you could use to slamm the vehicle to the ground.

ive had just about every size, from first set of rims to first set for racing only.. my 17x7 were destroyed by potholes inside of 3 months under normal driving, hate to see people make a costly mistake.

u know for a fact??? i strongly disagree w this statment
and as far as running anything lower than +30.. i wouldnt reccomend it either unless u have coils n some way of adjusting camber but its more than possible.. i know

If its going to bad on anything, it would be the power steering. But yes, if the camber isn't right and the rims are way wider because of the offset or whatever, it could mess up the bearings.

Well what I plan on doing is, lowering my car on S-techs, with a 18x7.5 rim & a +38 offset or so. As for tires.. i may go with 215.

According to lancerman's article, that should be a nice fit.

Yeah, those should fit with the 215, which is what I'm planning also. I just need to make sure I can find a rim that is going to clear an evo brembo front brake caliper, which I plan to swap over along with 5 lug conversion when its time to buy rims.

Yes. I had the exact same setup. That will work great.

As for the Brembo brakes...I have no idea what offset you need to make them fit. It will also depend on the wheel spoke design.
