Noisy lowering spring, need help.

Hello everyone, I recently installed Megan 1" lowering springs on my 2009 Lancer GT. Ever since I hear lots of noise from the front when I turn the wheel at low speeds (reversing or in parking lots) It kind of sounds like creaking/cracking and comes from both sides. I took it to a shop and they impacted every bolt I touched... sound remains.

However, if the car is let to sit for a day or two it will not make noise for a couple of miles... then it's back. Today I backed off the main top hat bolt and torqued it to 45lbs, it was fine for a few miles then noise again.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.. the car runs and drives fine but the noise doesn't sound good.

Lisa

I had the same problem with the first set of (RRM) springs i installed. I do not have it now with the Eibachs - because i am smarter now on how to do it

Is it possible the endlink nuts are tight - but the endlinks are worn? How hard was it to get them off (did they spin alot with an impact)?

When i did my endlink nuts i used the impact but until i used a hex/allen key and a box end wrench did i get them really good and tight... All quiet now...

The end links were a big pain. They kept spinning with the impact gun. The passenger side rounded at the allan key and was difficult to put back together. The driver was better but still didn't feel snug. Maybe they need replacing.

Thanks for the help.

Update to my own problem. I read the forum and found people who used spray grease to lube all the suspension components. I crawled under the car with a can of spray silicone and emptied it.

I could not be happier, the car no longer makes a sound! I am not sure where the sound was coming from but it is gone and everything works/sounds great.

A little info for the next person with these problems.

Cheers
