Clutch Pedal Adjustment?

Is it possible to adjust where in the pedal travel our clutch engages? My clutch still grabs perfectly fine, its just doing so a little higher in the pedal travel than I'd prefer. Any help would be great.

I don't think it can be adjusted. I could be wrong though.

Damn, I was hoping since the pedal can be adjusted on the evo maybe it can on ours. Well I'll find out soon since I'm going to the dealership in like 10 hours for some warranty work.

I swear I've seen something about clutch adjustment.. I'll have to search for it.. I hate how far my clutch travels too. Its like pushing in a tractor pedal.

Heres the one for the evo, you can check to see if it is similar to yours.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...=clutch+adjust

Basically what it says is you have to get upside down on your back under the dashboard.. follow the clutch pedal up to where the clutch rod goes thru the firewall.. there is a 12mm nut on it that you have to loosen.. I guess you just have to adjust it until the clutch pedal is where you want it in conjunction to the floor. But if you go too far, it won't stay in gear, so you have to adjust it and test it how for how low you can go. Some people adjusted it too low and it pops out of 1st gear under acceleration. I'm going to check my car out after I get off work today to see if I can locate this 12mm nut on the clutch rod where it goes thru the firewall.

i would like to know also, i have just the exact opposite problem as everyone else. mine was engaging normal, then i got in my car the next day to drive and the clutch is engaging really low (probably about 1 to 2 inches from floor). ive never driven another manual car, nor had to replace a clutch, could this be a sign that i need to replace it?

Yeah when I took my car in for a warranty service they said it wasn't adjustable, but they say the same thing about the evo clutch so I don't know. When the clutch is going it engages really high up, not really low down.

i dont think it can, i read the thread that wiretap posted, they say to follow the clutch rod from the pedal to the top, and loosen or tighten a 12mm nut depending if you want your engaging point lower or higher, i believe that i found the nut they are talking about so i messed with it, and seems to have no relevance of the engaging point. so im not sure, i drove again today, and its getting to the point where i am scared to drive it because im afraid my car wont stay in gear. i need help quick.

Although bringing back from the dead, there is some misinformation in this thread. Thought I would share the proper method of adjusting a clutch for the most travel on dsm's/evo's/etc.

Big thanks to Jack.

That's for bumping a thread asking for information on a car I no longer own.
