Hello,
This just started recently...when I turn the car over and put it in drive there is a noticable noise coming from under the hood (driverside hood) in that area...not sure what it is but it only makes the noise when its in D.
Also I have a CVT. I also noticed when I put it in N there is no 'N' on the display....i tried to slightly rev it and it will not go past 2k...oddly enough if i put it back in D then push it more than normal into N, Neutral works fine...so Im guessing something is up with my CVT...
car has 42k miles
CVT
Any thoughts?
I have to schedule a routine oil change and wanted to know what you guys thought before I took it in.
Thanks!

CMcraz23 . listen carefully.
When it makes this sound is the A/C engaged. if so when you turn it off and then drive, does the sound go away.
Also when you have it in neutral and rev the engine does it make that sound. Do this with your windows up see if you can hear anything thru the vents
let me know if you have an issue

no the AC is not on ( I rarely ever have it on haha) the engine noise is only when its in D not N
As for the rev in neutral(when the display doesnt register that Im in N) there is no 'bad' sound, it just wont rev that well or at all (nothing over 2k rpm).
as for hearing through the vents I havent done that yet...
any ideas? I am rather perplexed at this...

i think all of our cars engines make this noise if its the one i'm thinking of. i had an 08 now i have a 10 and they both make it. couldn't hurt to get it checked out, right now the creaking from my sunroof is the thing driving me crazy!
