Converting AUTO to MANUAL

Ok, so my trans is dieing, recently, it will not shift into park. it just rolls and trans gear just ticks away :-( Im looking to do a 5-spd swap. I know the oz rallys come in a 5-spd trim. qestions:

1) Would the manual trans bolt up to the motor? im assuming yes?
2) would i need to change the trans mount?
3) i have an evo 8 ECU, what other wires will i need??
4) I basically need the trans, clutch, pedal, shift console, clutch lines, some wiring, is there anything else? I can get a used manual trans for 175.00 so im going to try the swap

Thanks!

your slave cylinder on your manual trans if its 04-06trans will block the turbo intake

Just food for thought mitsu you can probably just run the evo 8 rom on your auto ecu if you switch to a manual it just wont control any of the transmission pins at that point.

Ok Spikr, so if i re-flash the evo8 ecu into the lancer ecu, it wont control the trans though?? Also, what would the ECU control as far as transmission goes?

Yes

no

Like roadspike said just run the evo 8 rom like most of the manual lancers on here

What's your email tony. I'll shoot you the list I had as well for when I had everything to do the swap. For the shift console you just need the top part of a manual car. Get yourself a wrecked manual lancer if you can. I found 2 of them for under $500 when I was looking for a motor for my friend's car.

Thanks!

There should be a plug of some kind or more than attaches to the transmission you should be able to unplug these if running the evo 8 rom.

I have a somewhat complete, wrecked 5 speed '03 Lancer I can sell for $800. Hit on the right front. Motor/transmission is good. 41k miles, clean title car. Don't have the time to fix it.

PM me if you're interested. I am in NJ.

depends if you buy a whole car it can and probably will be cheaper than if you buy everything separate. Certain would be better bought new like clutch and stuff like that.

to go off the question about the tranny mount, you will need to swap it out cause if ur wondering if the auto mount will bolt up to the 5speed tranny that would be no, i just go done talking to rockauto about returning the transmission mount that i got from them off their site that they listed for an auto but the bolt patters are completely different so they had shipped me a 5 speed one
this is want i got from them

what i needed

rockauto has excellent customer service and are gonna refund me for the entire amount i payed and are paying the cost to return it to them

I would really like the complete list for this swap. We have a OZ rally edition here and are wondering what we need to make the dash work after the swap. It has been so hard to find this information in a searchable format.

Thank you guys,
Alex

You need the manual gauge as well from when I was researching. I can't remember why though.
