2013 ES CVT Filter question
2013 ES CVT Filter question
Hey, so I was looking for someone with a bit more experience than me. I have a 2013 Lancer ES with a CVT. I have the AllData for my vehicle. Problem is it lists both the CVT and the manual transmission in there. I think the abbreviation they use for their manual is ASMT or Automatically Shifted Manual Transmission. There is the filter in the pan of the CVT (item number 2824A007) but there is also a transmission cooler filter (item number 2824A006). Since I am no longer sure whether my vehicle even has a transmission cooler, my question is simply this:
Does the stock 2013 ES with the CVT have a transmission cooler filter, or is it just the manual that has it?
Other related questions: Is it worth it to change out the filter in the transmission of a vehicle with 100k miles? If so, is a cooler filter change adequate, or do I really need to drop the pan and swap out the filter there too? Cause paying someone to do the filter in the pan is just south of $800, and doing it myself is a weekend of torment, especially since I have PTSD from doing the tranny filter in my van and stripping out some bolts. You do not know stress or pain until you have to drill and tap new bolt holes into the aluminum housing of a transmission with zero hope of being able to replace it if you mess up or let any shavings get into the tranny itself.Thread
