SHift Knob
SHift Knob
Hello all
I am looking for a reason why the sparco shift knob my girlfriend gave me for my bday today won't stay tight. Are they made for aftermarket shifters or do I need some kind of adapter to limit the amount I can shake it on the gear stick? After I tighten it up and drive for a few shifts it begins to loosen again.
I'll probably get the B&M shifter if I need to get an aftermarket shifter for this knob to fit but I would prefer to make it work.
Thanks for replies.

I had the same problem with Matrix shifter, and this is what I did. I took the little plastic cap (don't know if yours came with one, but, it fit over the top of the screw-thing) and epoxied it to the shift knob itself. Then, I took some (and this is sounds kind of "ghetto" I know) but, I used a ton of electrical tape around it right where the little screws attatch. I did that about a month and a half ago, and it hasn't moved.
funny enough it did not come with a plastic cap. That's why I was asking about the aftermarket knob but your idea on the tape sounds plausible. All I need is something to fill the gap inside the knob.
Thanks for the suggestion.
