I got the buschur pistons, and hopefully my car will be back and running in a week or so, costing me roughly 4000$.

Yeah 4000$ CAD, so far its needed a new sensor (200$), new spark plugs (40$), 4 new valves (1000$), new pistons (300$), new bearings (100-200$ I think), its being bored out and there's a lot of mechanic hours.

I think something got into the manifold, which meant the valves, which then threw off the AF ratio which caused it to run too lean thus melting the pistons. My advice, be damn careful of the install if you do it yourself.

Ok my car is now back in my hands with basically a brand new engine. The final bill.......4800$, an amazing 300$ more than a new engine. I haven't broke it in fully but the car is already a little nippier, especially in the lower RPM range.

Holy crap. This is an example of why we need to be extra careful when installing things on our engines. Glad to hear you've got your car back finally. Enjoy it!

Sure did, it sounds a little different, the exhaust note seems deeper. Its also bored out so that might be part of it as well. I threw a code again today, the same one, something along the lines of idle air control or something. The car runs fine with it on, all I can think of is the idle screw is set too wide.
