one thing puzzles me, like my car is NEW, like REAL new, like 2 weeks new, wont this intake void my warranty? i mean, the civic, u can just put back the stock filter and no one would notice, but the lancer, seeing that you must remove the the bolts held by plastic (which will clearly give away that you tampered with the engine), and that u have to reset the ECU. isn't that dangerous? anything to do with recalibrating the ECU, isn't that like not good?

once u disconnect the battery and let the ECU detect/adjust with the new intake, will i be able to reinstall my stock filter and reset the ECU again to bring back to stock normal settings? cuz if this is going to void my warranty or worse...i'm thinking of installing it like 2 years later, after my warranty's up

if i put back the stock, i would be able to disconnect the battery and reset the ECU again to stock calibration? will i be able to getaway with fooling the mitsubishi mechanics?

what are the chances of water going in? i know the CAI was bad if u dont watch out on rainy days...but the fact that its SRI it already reduced my chances to hydrolock by 60%pretty much, its relatively safe.

man...didn't ever think the intake was directly linked with the ECU...why couldn't mitsu engineers just stick with easiness like honda....honda was unbolt, replace, rebolt, 3 ez steps..

i just dont feel comfy with tampering my ECU...

I did not have any problem with the mas bolts at all on mine. they came loose just fine with a 10mm socket and ratchet. must have been lucky

I don't understand why the bolts from the MAS are so freaking tight and before i install my intake~~i already snap all of my plastic housing(i know~~i was thinking) and i still think it is weird!!

Argh. Warranty questions.

I'm not certain about Canadia, but I'm assuming it's similar to the US. The Moss-Morrison Act: Learn it, live it, love it.

EDIT: If you don't feel comfortable "tampering" with your ECU, stop tuning now. Just about every engine mod you make is, in one way or another, forcing or bypassing you ECU to run outside its normal operation in order to get the desired results.
