This is a replaceable bolt and nut right? When I have a problem like this, I just grind the bolt head away and the remaining piece with the nut comes out.
But this is only if you can buy a replacement bolt and nut.

Head for the hardware store, grab a can of mapp gas and a mapp torch. You'll use it more than you know.

the bolt is threaded directly into the flange of the cat...all you've got is the head on the bolt; unfortunately there is no nut. trust me, i would have ground that S.O.B. off in a heart beat last weekend if that was the case

it's starting to look like vice grips, blow torch, and a weeks worth of penetrating oil is going to have to work.

It's a b*tch. Unfortunately, almost all of us who have done exhausts have gone through this, and quite a few of us have had to go through the same exact ish with that bolt.

If you were closer to DC I'd get you in a shop with a lift and for 4 bucks we could get that sucker off.

I know I'm gonna run into a similar problem. I was under the car last week looking at the stock cat and I noticed something a little disturbing. When I had my catback put on, the brilliant welder at the shop decided to weld the bolt head/nut to the pipe when he welded the pipe onto the stock flange Looks like I'm gonna have to grind it away....

just take it back to a shop and have them cut and reweld everything for you.
