the only things that i have chip are the bumpers, including the whole front grill because it is MADE OF PLASTIC! plastic does not hold paint well, so it is chipping on mine. mine is white, the color may have an effect.

it is not warranty covered. aren't our warranties drive train and tires only...

 

Older post but that's nothing new. I have chips on the back edge of my hood and the front edge of my trunk. That can only be from ****ty paint.

 

Personally I think that's BS... I've had my Lancer for almost 2 weeks now, and I've never taken it out on highways or anything and I'm already getting some mean chips on both my hood and side panels, and not just a little paint chip, I can see the bare metal...

Now I don't know a whole lot about Mistubishi as a company or their practices and such, but I do know that GM and Dodge offered a paint recall on their minivans and a few other of their vehicles because they had known problems with chipping and bubbling, and gave free paint jobs for it... But they also tried not to let anyone know about it and you had to fight in order to actually get it..

Honestly, I think if enough people who bought Mitsubishi vehicles have this problem with their paint job, and all of them complain to Mitsubishi about it, I'm sure they would at least offer to rectify the problem... Any respectable company will rectify a known flaw or defect in their product, and I don't think Mitsubishi should be any different, but then again, I've never dealt with the company until about 2 weeks ago, so I have no idea how to they do business...

 

BlackGTS, and notice small chips along the side skirts, and also can see TINY bubbles in the paint on the rear by the back doors.

 

funny story: the day i go to pick up my car the sales rep tells me they had a couple issues with the car, and i was like NO WAY! whats wrong and they were like the detailing guy did some damages to the paint while he was buffing the car, and i was like omg, WTF...so i go and look at the damage and see that the guy had melted to paint off the front bumper, hood and rear bumper i wanted to die BUT, the sales rep said that i needed to bring the car back in like a week anyways to have my front spoiler and side skirts painted and mounted anyways so they could repaint the car then and i was like this will be free right and they said yes and i was like sighing in relief lolol so anyways im new to the mitsubishi deal with bad paint jobs but now im glad that i practically got my hole car repainted by a pro that does new z06 vets and stuff because this paint is still pristean and no scrates with 7000+ highway miles on her, thank you detailing guy

 

yep got a chip on mine to paint is thinner then runway models....

 

hell i had mine taken in to let them look at the paint chips and all they did was take pics of it and said that they will contact me at a later date and let me know what is going on.... that was a week ago and still havent heard anything... so im gunna go back up there and complain again about the damn paint chippin
