Periodic inspection ?

Any of you guys up to the periodic inspection yet?
I have 800 miles before I have to bring the car back to the dealer, just wondering is it a free inspection or not?

I dunno. I never go back unless something is broken. I did get 9 free oil changes or some such so I will go back for those I guess, if it's convenient, but otherwise I stay away unless there is trouble. I can keep track of what maintenance is needed, and now that I am closing on a house next week I can even do some myself since I have a big driveway and a garage.

I just called mitsu and spoke to a rep but he seems to know nothing about the periodic inspection. I asked him for info about the periodic inspection and he asked me back what inspection for couple of times. I was like, dude I am asking u u dumbass. So I guess it's just a check up to ensure nothing wrong with these new technology vechicles huh..

OK, open the glove box. There's a baggie with some books in it. You're looking for the service book (it's pretty thin). Go to the back and look at the Severe Maintainence schedule. That will tell you everything they do at every service point.

Now, decide if you want to pay them to do it.

Since you didn't tell us your mileage, I don't know what service you need or whether or not it's worth it. I will say that my car probably won't see the dealer until something major comes up. The first few services are just oil change, tire rotation, inspect for leaks, etc.

yeah, I read that thin booklet already, oil change and rotate tires @ 7500 miles.
But I also read the thick manual and it said a periodic inspection is required.
My car has 3000 miles on it now, and 800 miles to go where it shows on the info panel.

Wow, my info panel is set for the 7500 mile.

Anyhow, did you talk to a Service Dept. employee or a salesman? If they don't know what it is, maybe it's just not worth worrying about.
Also, what part of the Owners Manual talks about periodic inspection? I want to check that out...

yeah, i talked with the service dept.
hmm. this is weird. When I first got my new lancer with 5 miles on it, I remembered it shows 3300 miles on the info panel, then now I almost putted 3000 miles on it, it shows 800 miles left, the number seems a lil confusing.

I got my warning two days ago. The service people at my dealership told me they change out the starter oil and just do an all around check.

I get free oil changes for life at my dealership.

The sticker on my windshield says to bring it back at 3750, so that makes sense.
