FM Reception Problem
Has anyone had any problems with reception on their radio. I am not talking about the SVC (radio volume changing with speed of car). I get poor reception from every station and it has nothing to do with tint , or where i live.
Has anyone spoken to the dealer about this problem. Some people on mitsuforums said the dealer tried to fix it but couldnt figure out what was wrong with it even after replacing a part...

I have not had a problem with mine. Not that you should have to, but you might want to check the connections from the back of the head unit to the antenna itself (if there is a lack of dealer trust).
My reception on my car sucks as well. I had a FM modulator for my iPod and I can barely stand it that I am back to burning MP3 CD's.
Also I don't think the SVC works on my car, how do you guys notice it? does the volume actually increase in numbers or just self correction without indication?

oh well what can you expect for 21 grand. I think we got a pretty good car for the price. No 350Z or IS350 but I also have 25 grand still in my account

I have a $75 iTrip FM transmitter for my iPod (I have an 08 ES witch doesn't come standard with an ipod connector) and it works like crap. I've tried all frequencies and nothing stay in tune and it frequently drops out completely.
lame.
Maybe someone could try retrofitting the OE antennae with a better one and then tell me how to do it. :-P

these radios have the regular radio? oh.. but put it on AM and hit seek. if it doesnt pick up anything at all, then the antenna is most likely not plugged in. if it does, then there is an issue that the dealer needs to take care of for you.

try the monster cable (the one that charges the ipod at the same time) it works great, obvioulsy not in my lancer because of the FM reception but other than that its awesome. Picked one up on ebay for 35 shipped...much better than 90 at the store.
