I have driven my car as hard as you can and had nothing mentioned in this topic. I did experience lack of hp tho lol.

Like everybody else is saying, dude...the problem lies between the wheel and the drivers seat. Have somebody else drive your car...somebody who's good with a standard gearbox, obviously... if nothing happens for him/her, then go to driving school or man-up and practice in empty parking lots till you get it right or puke or both. And if the car does end up being the problem, you'll have the satisfaction of coming back here and proving us all wrong. Either way you win.

dudes
like i said before.

im not even shifting gears here.
im travelling slowly in 1st gear just above 1krpm. my foot isnt even touching the clutch.

All i do is press the throttle all the way down and it starts hopping near the 4krpm range
i mean i can not push the throttle all the way down and it wont skid, i can push the throttle down enough to the point where i feel it slipping.

My point is, you guys are saying you are driving it as hard as you can, so 100% throttle as soon as possible, and u guys get no hop and zero traction loss, then why am i getting it. I cannot drive as hard as i can like you guys are saying you are because i have to baby it to prevent hopping/traction loss.

this is just really pressing down on the gas folks, so i dont know how this even involves manual transmission.

My guess is it's normal. Most of us don't press our foot to the floor in first gear because there's no point. Obvious solution, don't go full throttle like that in first gear, you're probably just overloading the tires.

Well my 03 has a really touchy 1st gear but nothing thats too unmanageable. I didnt catch whether you were new at driving with the manual transmission or not because if you are the lancer(at least the 4G94 equipped one, idk about your 08) is not an easy car to learn on.

I learnt on the lancer (more or less) and found it an alright car to learn on, but certainly not ideal. The clutch is vague at times and it can be finicky in regards to take offs.

This is not rocket science. If you floor it in first gear, the car will lose traction. What more do you need to hear? Stop pushing the ******* pedal to the floor and you'll be fine!

But Doug, everyone knows a FWD car with no LSD should have traction all the time!

Amen, brother.

"i put the petal to the medal"
"i rev it up"
"I cant push the throttleall the way down on 1st gear"
"but i cant even floor it"
"if i hammer down on the throttle"
"All i do is press the throttle all the way down and it starts hopping"
"100% throttle as soon as possible"

These are taken from posts by you and are within context to your problem...how much more convincing do you need that its you? An AWD conversion, sand-bagging, tires coated with stick-em, and 4-way Rally-spec shocks aren't gonna help you if you stink at driving in the first place. Driving school is cheap and you get a discount on insurance, so it even pays for itself over time.

AWD certainly won't help you, I can't go around slamming my foot to the floor all the times, at least if I want my diffs and tranny to last more than 10000 miles.

haha continue the flaming.

the only reason why im pursuing this is cuz a few people like hawkeye have not ever broken traction with this car

"I've been trying - uphill, downhill, wet, dry, warm, cold. I have yet to get the car to break traction when in gear."

i have, and can easily do so in 1st gear.

True. I personally LOVE how twitchy the 1st gear is and I'm used to it. I love it when my friend, who has driven my car, is AMAZED at how smooth I can just drive it in 1st through a parking lot.
