I think we got a revised lancer here is South Africa. As it only came out a few months back. Also all the problems u guys have listed I didnt have. Eg pullin to the left or right, not startin, poor radio reception etc. Mine is as perfect as can be and im very happy with it.

Sorry. It's a weak point I have: I consider cynicism a sport.

Ultimately, I am sorry to hear about your car problems (and everyone else's too). A car is an amazing piece of machinery...it can give you great feelings of happiness and freedom or it can feel like 1 1/2 ton ball and chain. But just like everything else in life; do what you have to do to make yourself happy. If that means ditching the Lancer, go for it. Nobody could ever say that you were wrong for doing so.

"There are problems that we just dont cover." - Service Department Manager @ Mitsubishi in Rockville, MD. Alex is the Desk Taco.

This is after an hour and a half of three service guys ( looked like they put shirts on the bums from the street and called them Techs ) trying to figure out where the sound was coming from and they didnt even bother to peel the plastic back to see inside the door. One of them took the door panel off ( after 10 minutes of me convincing them that the only way to figure it out was to ACTUALLY LOOK inside the door. ) and then I had to inform them that you cant see **** without removing the plastic. Finally It seems that I got suckered into actually doing the work, removing the plastic myself while they watched and began to diagnose the problem. I treated both wires that run along the inside door panel horizontally and the locking bar thats attached to the handle. I used electrical tape and created a damper by wrapping the parts at a couple locations.

What I'm pissed about is that they still charged me $55 bucks for service. Their reason? The car has problems that arent covered. The manager actually said "you get what you pay for." " its not a BMW..." I only went to the dealer to avoid messing something up voiding my warranty. I ended up doing the work myself anyway and then got charged for it.

I'm not hating on the car. Im going to have fun with my lancer but Im not buying or suggesting any else to buy another one. She was right, its not a BMW and they dont know what its like to provide that type of service. AND I WILL ALWAYS point out the fact that the Mitsubishi Dealership on 15555 Frederick Rd, Derwood, MD. is trying to pull scams.

wow that blows.. what i did was pretty effective.. i emailed the head manager at the dealership i bought my car and i told them straight up, when ever my friends or family is looking for a car, especially a mitsubishi, i told them that i would talk down upon their dealership and will be sending them to a different dealership. and right away i got two hand signed letters saying that will do what ever they can to change my mind about their dealership... so i have two letters from them, and when ever i go home and need work on my car and i get sh1tty service... im going to bring that letter out and blast them...

You didn't actually pay them did you??? I'd be like, "Get the **** outta here. I'm not payin' you anything, and I'm telling everyone I know how much you suck and never coming here again. Give me the keys, now."

I would gone ape**** at the dealership. You should have taken the keys and go.

And to top it off they're charging you $55 bucks when you did all the work??? Wow! Unbelievable. I hope this never happens to the rest of us or to you ever again.

On another note... I'm finally getting my subwoofer replaced after two months of waiting.

It's my first Mitsubishi but based on the complaints and the ****ty service I've experience and have read about here, it's my last...never again.

I had a nice list of issues that had to be taken care of by my dealership...car was was gone for a few days and when I get it back most of the problems still exist except for two small minor things. What bothers me the most is how they seem to be "surprised" with the issues the lancer is having. They make it seem like Im hearing or imagining things with my car, yet the other day I was there to pick up my car and some kid came in with almost the exact same list of issues as my car, except for those two problems that were fixed. He was telling them what he was experience had they had the same stupid reaction has they did for me.

Im going to call the service manager once again and give him a piece of my mind...he's a liar and Im sick of their stories. I'll wait and see what he says and how he reacts and if nothing happens then Im now taking these issues to headquarters.

I was at the auto show yesterday and was kicking myself for not spending the extra money and buying the Si sedan.

Your problems seem to be more about your dealership having a crappy service dept. than about sucking...

Hey man our lancer came from Rockville Mitsubishi. I bought mine @ Harrisonburg Mitsubishi in Virginia and they traded one with one of theirs that they had on the lot. The whole process was great and our salesperson was awesome. So far no problems with the car @ 680 miles. I really hope if I ever go in for service I don't come home pissed off and have to rant on this thread...

Different Dealership

Its most definitely was the two scam artists that made me mad. Alex is the guy to not take any **** from. He's the guy that if he opens his mouth, you just give him the line " I don't remember asking you a god damn thing!" All the others are complete lackeys. You know the kind, cant look at you and mumble.

Maybe in Harrisonburg your dealership is honest. If they are, let me know and I will make the drive to talk with competent people. From now on, there is no way in hell I'm letting Rockville get any money out of me.

And I'm sure your SALESMAN was real cool. I don't think anyone has complained about not being able to BUY one from a crappy SALESMAN. Its when you have to get it fixed from a SERVICEMAN ( or the WANNABE rap stars they hire )

680 miles.........long way to go

BTW, check out the post on Yahoo Local. I'm not the only one with problems from that Mitsu. Wish I had read that before I went.

On a good note. I did fix the problem myself, its dead quite now.
