Lancer Losing Props
I'm on my 3rd Mitsu since I started driving way back when... My first two Mitsu's were pick-up trucks. The first was a used 1980 Mighty Max, and the second was a new 1992 Mighty Max. The used one had issues, but I blame the previous owners on that for abusing the poor thing and it was on it's last legs when it came into my possession. The 1992 Mighty Max was a rock solid little truck. I had it for 10 years, and never needed to take it in for warranty work. Even after I lowered it 2"/3" (F/R) and installed a thumpin' system it never developed any rattles. The engine developed a valve tick at some point, but that was no big deal to me. I had the computer in it fry after the warranty ran out, but that was only a matter of $300 for a new computer and 10 minutes with a screw driver to fix.
So far, I'm completely enjoying my '08 Lancer GTS. As far as having the car serviced goes, I'm a DIY sort of guy. So, all of the little "issues" (like rattles and stuff) that I find I'll correct them myself. I'll only cash in on my warranty for major issues, like the "no start" problem.
At this point, #1 DYI correction is to apply sound deadening material to the trunk lid, and possibly apply some to the doors. I don't have rattles in the doors yet, but I've noticed that they seem kind of "thin" when closing them... they don't seem to match the 'solidness' of the rest of the chassis.
My #1 warranty issue to have addressed is to take it in for the 'no start' issue. I've only experienced it once, and I only had to take the key out and put it back in to get the car started. However, I want to have those relays changed before it becomes a major issue due to the corrosive effects of moisture on electronic contacts. I was hoping I would be able to skate by this issue with luck, but I found out my car was assembled in Oct 2007 over the weekend. So, I'll be contacting my dealership some time soon to have the relays changed.

I'm starting to lose faith in my GTS too. I've only had it for a month and half and it's been to the shop for unexpected problems three times already. Twice I had to take it cuz of the throttle sensor problem. They just ended up replacing the relays and now my HVAC would suddenly die with no warning, subwoofer's blown, and my car wouldn't even crank yesterday when I tried to start it. To top it off, my fiancé has an 08' ES which she bought in October and that one is running in perfect condition.
Yeah I guess this will also be my last Mitsubishi. I like the warranty and all, the fact that I'm not spending a dime to get things repaired but it's soooooo inconvenient taking it to the dealer everytime and not having a personal mode of transportation, especially during this cold winter month.
