Does it FEEL like oil if you were to youch it? (don't stick your finger in and burn yourself, but try to get some out). Any pics?

My exhaust spits fuel littered with carbon, but I know I'm running rich as hell. It looks oil-like. Could be something similar for you.

well heck hobie, I never thought of that. It is black like oil but not as slick. i will smell it and take a pic of it when I get home.

My car is almost stock, except for the ingenius intake , I run nothing else. Could it be the gas I use?

If you've got a pretty stock ride, it's definitely not an ultra rich fuel mixture you're running.

Is your ingenuis intake homade, because if you messed up the honeycomb in your MAS you could be running rich and that would definately look like oil.

Damaging the MAF could definitely cause you to run very rich like that.

from registry
Shade tree stock (pull the clips up ,pull the front of case in towards you and push airfilter back against the mas and wedge the clips into the hole)
Well, that means he didn't even have to get close to the MAS, and the only side affect of this "intake" is maybe the filter gets dirtier quicker. So now what?

Doesn't has sometimes go through without getting burned sometimes, expecially on startup and certain RPMs. Could it be fuel?

I've stood right by my muffler before on a cold startup just to see how much worse the smell is without either cat. Even after having driven the car with only a resonator, I never got any oil-like substance.

I guess it could be unburnt fuel, but I dunno if that would be a byproduct of running premium gas. Granted some of it will go through unburnt, but enough to cause a buildup like that?
