lost the freakin fast key is the dealer my only option? or can other fobs be reprogrammed to my car? i know the actual key would need to be replace(metal key) but the fob seems like it would be universal just a reprogram?

 

Ebay sells them for the earlier ones, but I don't know how/if they work. I think they have a how-to programming on here somewhere.

i did get two, just want a backup because if the 2nd one is lost will be more of a pain in the a$$

 

FYI If your car is a USA model, you can program your new keyfob as per the instructions in the owner's manual to save a trip to the dealer. I bet the transponder from the 07 Outlanders will work in our car, too.

Edit: Now that I think of it, I believe the self-programming is only possible if you already have both keys in your possesion. Sorry

 

i have one fast key in my possession and will aquire another for 129.95 oh yea funk the dealer!
