Mobile 1 Oil Filter Confusion

Ok, so i just did my oil change the other day, and was just searching the forums to see what other people were using for oil and oil filter. I decided to go with Mobile 1 5w-20 Full Synthetic and the Mobile 1 oil filter (M1-108). As i was reading through the threads, it was said that the M1-110 oil filter is the one that is used for the 2008 Mitsubishi lancer, but when i went to m y local advanced auto parts store, they have it listed to be the M1-108 for direct OEM replacement. The difference between thre 2 filters is that the M1-108 is like a 1/4 inch smaller then the M1-110. Which is the right filter to use? AutoZone and Advanced auto parts are listing M1-108, yet the M1-110 looks almost exact to the OEM spec oil filter. Please help...

My local Auto Zone has M1-108 listed as replacement but I always buy M1-110... Like you said, it looks exactly like OEM...

Is using the M1-108 oil filter going to hurt anything to the motor? Any major differences other then overal height of the filter?

There's no major difference between the two other than the size...they don't differ in terms of quality. If you get the larger size, just remember to add a bit more oil to compensate.
