Angry odometer

i was driving insterstate and on the way i did a 5km odometer check -and it turns out for every 5km my odometer shows 5.2km --- thats 4% more

mitsu refuse to fix it coz its within acceptable limit - thats crazy??? does anyone have the same problem????? has anyone tested theirs???? can I fix it myself??? or do i just have to live with it?

I just drove from NY to Ocean City Maryland next to my brothers Accord and we were at the same exact tenth. 286.8 miles Do you have different tires? mabee slitly lower profile from a different company.

nope the whole car is bone stock

There are acceptable tolerances in odometers and speedometers. Learn to calibrate it, pay for it, or live with it.

You could probably even account for some of the difference in traction. Wheel and tire size (rolling diameter) or tire pressure (more likely in your case since the car is stock) could account for the inaccuracy as well. For every 1km it's only off 0.04km.

get 215/55/15 tires, that will make up for it as well as improve traction and appearance.
