locked keys in car

Ok before i go any further this is to save the interior of your car. yeah laugh at me for locking them in the car but it is easy to do when no auto unlock and you accidentally shut your door. first off my girlfriends dad is a cop and needless to say had a laugh when he was outside in the freezing cold with his break in stuff trying to open the door. second. it doesnt work. all it does is scratch the crap out of the interior and you have to take the door apart to get the tools back out if you do get it open. just any suggestions besides "dont be retarded and lock your keys in your car" on what to do incase this happens again

Keep a spare in your wallet, and don't lock your wallet in the car like I did. I called up my local locksmith. He just used his kit to get his stick with a hook into it and got it out. He used two wedges and a stick that was covered in rubber. It did leave marks in the door jab, but he was able to get it unlocked. It didn't damage any of the interior. I got into a 98 eclipse with a door hanger that at the end was a good loop that I twisted really well to keep it from coming undone. Just hook it on the handle and it opens the door.

call roadside assistance.... it's 5 years unlimited miles. They'll get the car unlocked free for you.

EDIT: Diamond Care should have sent you a car with the number, but I think it's 1-888-MITSU2009

Sometimes the smaller windows cost more than the big ones.

Go to home depot and have a spare key cut. Won't start the car but it will open your door. For future reference.

Small inflatable airbag and a long metal rod should do.
