Update

Shop has had it for approx a week now. After testing etc... shop stated that the blower, radio, and interior lighting are all on the same circuit. They believe that a wire may have melted or something and they will need a few more days to narrow down exactly where and/or what wire to avoid replacing a complete harness.

Got the car back from the shop yesterday after having it for a few weeks. Apparently the drain was caused by a plug coming from the ecu or connecting to the ecu. One of the prongs was bent enough where it was not getting a solid connection thus causing the drain, and the other stuff... the blower motor to come on when the car was off etc...

It was part of the wiring that controls all of the interior components.. dash lights, dome lights, radio, blower motor etc...

They straightened this plug out and so far it has not had any problems. The thing the shop and I both found unusual is that somebody would have had to unplug the connectors and not plug them back together right, or messed with the prong to bend it. Our theory on this is, either the shop that I had problems with that swapped the alternator did it, or previous owner.. or something, although it was strange i wasn't having any problems with then all of the sudden it happened.

Or, if your car had the p0421 recall, it could be a Mitsu tech who screwed up
Either way, someone did mess up somehow and I'd blame temperature fluctuation to be the reason why it started happening all of a sudden. Because... you know... hot expands, cold shortens.

You know that is a big possibility too. It did start draining about the 2nd or 3rd hot day we had here.

Either way ended up getting a new alternator, battery, and battery terminals. I guess thats less that will cause problems anytime soon... Hopefully

Yeah the box under the hood... The way they explained it to me was it was a connector running off the ecu from my understanding. I'll have to double check the paperwork when get home see if there is more info on it... maybe more descriptive detail.
