Electric Noise in rain/wet road

When I drive my lancer 2009 GTS on wet road, I hear this whinning noise, like an electric noise motor when accelerating. It's much more noticable at higher RPM at higher gears. Anyone else get this weird noise? Anyone know what it is?

That's the exact noise. Really odd, but atleast I know that someone else is having the same problem. Hopefully someone knows what it is.

The sound that you are hearing, or at least I think, is electrical noise when your ipod is plugged into the lancer. I had the same problem, and to resolve that electricl whinning noise I used an MP3 ground loop isolator. It helped out my sound dramatically because I was also getting static on top of that whinning noise. Now I only get static if my mp3 player isn't producing any sound like between tracks or when paused.

I am complaining about a different sound which seems to only appear in the rainl. I know it's not from my speakers because I turn everything off and listen to it. Very weird noise. Next time it rains, push your lancer up to around 4,000 RPM and see if there are any odd noises. At around 4,000 RPM, the noise is noticible.

Are you sure it is an electrical noise? I have something similar happening, but it sounds like a cylinder revolving around a shaft. It got super loud last week, but when I stopped and went to check it out I didnt see anything and it went away. Hopefully tonight I can find some time to dismount the wheel and check everything out. I am just hopping its not some bearing, cuz then I'll never be able to see it just from an inspection...

Yup. I can hear it with the radio off, on, cranked, quiet, etc. I am quite sure it is coming from the engine, but the weird part is that I don't hear it when I rev or rolling. Basically I only hear it when the engine is pulling the car.

sounds like a bad ground back feeding power through the audio system...

I think it just has to do with the actual tire interacting with the wet road. try driving over the painted lines and see if there is a difference in the pitch or intensity of the sound. on mine, it drastically changes to a much more noticeable sound when i put the driver wheels right on freshly painted road lines. And they happen to be on the highway, i can hear the frequency of it based on my speed.

That's what I initially though, but I only hear that sound when I'm on the gas. So the minute I let off the gas, the sound is gone; when I step on the gas, the sound comes back right away before I start to accelerate dramatically.
