Hello guys, I'm new to the forums, just bought an 02 Lancer ES. Loving my car But I have a problem.. My dome light stopped turning on whenever I open the door. I checked the fuse box but I don't really understand the pictures. Which one controls that particular function? I guess it would help to have the users manual. If anyone has a breakdown of what the fuses do for me then I would GREATLY appreciate it!!

Same thing happened to mine but i think unfortunately it is not a fuse but the Ecu that controlsc it . The Ecu is located behind the fuse box inside the car . Looks very pricey so i just let it be and deal with no dome light .
Good luck !

Is the light bulb still good?
Is the door trigger stuck?

Thanks for the diagram. I've checked all door switches and it can't be the door switch because then the open door light would be on on the speedometer gauge and that isn't the case. The light bulb refuses to turn on when the door is open. Is there a relay or fuse that is connected to the dome light? I don't have my user manual to explain to me what the fuses do in the fuse box ( both of them ) just the little symbols and that isn't enough for me to understand what I should be looking at..

I'm telling you its the same issue with mine . There is no relay it is computer controlled by the ETACS Ecu under the dash .

Its the exact problem with mine . That Ecu controls the automatic dome light . I also checked all the wiring to the dome light its self and dome light assembly was replaced with no luck .

Here is the diagram .

if you got a buddy that drives a Lancer you could test the theory. Borrow his/her ecu and try it out

Does your car when the key is turned to ACC does it do a double beep instead of a single beep .

My does double beep 3x. I think.

Is this because of that ECU? or do i have other problems with my car?
