Input needed............

brief story:
drove to work yesterday 11/11/03, parked it in the garage everything was fine...at 5 pm trying to get my car started it would not start (this past weekend it happened to me where the car would not start on 3 separate occassion but i got it to start somehow jus playing with it)
..anyways we tried to jump start the car no luck its still would not start....

...i finally got it to start today 11/12 but it shuts off
...im thinking it might be the thermostat
car is running hot...
...fuel injection is flooded
i only have basic bolt on i/h/e.....(auto tranny by the way)

Yup. Sound's like a thermo problem. When you turn the key to ON, how high does the temp gauge shoot?

When you turn the key to start, does the motor crank, or do you just hear a click? My Tercel would click when you turned the key if it was too hot, and never crank. New thermo fixed that problem right before the clutch fell out.

It's dealer-time, my friend. Basic bolt ons shouldn't have anything to do with the thermo, so the service department should just fix it under warrany.

i was at a gas station in South Carolina around 3 am on interstate 95. my car couldnt start for some reason and me and my cousin got freaked cause no one was at the gas station and we where off on some dirt road. i was playing around with it and it turned on finally.... i had to turn the wheel and turn the key at the same time... the dealer never told me about this and i only had my car for like 3 weeks..

ya i know what u mean. sometimes its just cheaper to go around the dealer than the dealer unless u have a warranty.

thats crap, when i had intake, headers, and exhaust, my dealership actually complimented my car and said they liked how it sounded, they did everything they could unless it involed a mod, the onyl thing they said they never did was change air filters (obviously because of the intake) and they couldnt ?check/clean? exhaust manifold
