Unhappy strange noise

I am getting a kind of clicking noise when I start my car. It sounds like something is missing but it only happens when I start the car then for about 5 minutes. this is after the car is already warm

thats usually just the Lifters.... it's a common thing with most turbo mitsi's. you cant really get rid of the noise but what you want to do is just give your car a good engine flush and this should take the noise away (For a while) it's no big deal my Evo 3 does it, my 6.5 did it, and well I know my 7 will do it soon as well. nothing you can do.

as long as you keep servicing your car then you dont need to worry.

yeah well from what i can gather I think thats the problem. all my life I've owned Mitsi's and they've all done it, at first I though it was the deadly "knocking noise" that you find when you run your car out of oil or water.

When you start the car you usually dont hear the lifter noise from maybe 10sec to 2minutes maybe and then it will start tapping away, you'll rev the engine and it will tapp at the same speed. then once the car is either warm or you've driven it for a while it goes away but then you may hear it from time to time during the day. This of course depends on how bad it's become. A good engine flush should do it but it may only last (depending on the age of the car) anything from 2days to 3wks and then it comes back.

like i said b4 as long as you keep servicing the car you got no worries.

Believe me, you will notice the difference between lifter noise and that "knocking noise" when you run out of oil. I won a new engine in court from a service company because they put the wrong oil filter on my car and 50 miles later all the oil in the engine escaped from around the seal. The noise you are probably hearing is just lifter noise. There is no way around it and be glad its not worse.

4banger is probably right. There are COUNTLESS threads on this. One was started last week. Honestly, the only reason I didn't give an answer in my moving post is because I'm sick of reading reposts. I'm in a slightly better mood today. Heh.
