Caliper is on tight and wheel is on tight. Since the rattling started 50k miles ago I have done quite a bit of work on the car and taken the wheel and caliper on and put it back on a few times. I even did a clutch swap and tightened everything down to torque spec that was involved in the swap. A front suspension diagram would be awesome if anyone has one!

So I have the car on stands, wheel, caliper, rotor, and strut removed. I have the control arm disconnected from the knuckle.

It looks like the mechanic welded one of the control arm bolts in. Do you think this might be the problem?

Attachment 337503

Maybe he stripped out whatever that bolt screws into and now there is a little movement in that spot?

Do you guys think this is the issue? How might I go about fixing it? Where does that bolt go to?

I would say you might be onto something, fixing it however looks to be a chore.

To anyone reading this thread / future readers:

I also had a "jingling" metal to metal sound coming from the front drivers side suspension, turned out the bracket that holds in the brake lines had come loose just enough to move around when air hits it, tightened it down no more noise ....
