Strange Flutter ticking between shifts. (CVT)

New to this site, wondering if i could get some help troubleshooting a ticking problem. Everytime I change gears in sport mode, if i let off the gas, a fluttering ticking noise occurs, and i can also sometimes hear it when i accelerate lightly on the pedal. Any ideas as to what it might be, i really could use an answer. Under the impression the ticking is caused from lifters but want to double check before i start trying to change anything out. Thanks.

These cars don't have lifters. Just little tappets between the valve stem and cam's. If the ticking only occurs when you do certain things, I would say it is something else than the valve clearance. it is fairly easy to check the valve set to rule that out. Noises can be tricky. Just have to try and narrow it down. Check your PCV valve as well.

Thanks

Well hell alright thanks for the info man. Ill be sure to check the valve set as soon as possible as well as the PCV valve. It started happening after i found an oil leak and my oil got too low. Would that have caused anything? The least of my thoughts would be that I've spun a bearing, but I just wanted to be sure.
