I have an 08 lancer gts and recently when i switch from feet to defrost there is an awful noise as the vents are changing. I took it apart and found a damper that is making the squeaking but for the life of me i can't get it out of figure out what part it is that is squeaking, Unsure if its the two plastic gears rubbing on each other or something inside the duct damper motor. I can't find any info on removal of this part. ANY help would be appreciated.

 

I don't really think we could tell you what is squeaking from the internet. You will have to do a process of elimination to figure it out. Put some grease on the plastic gears and vent doors to eliminate them one by one.
