Battery Indicator on - new battery and new alternator
Hi all,
I am new to the forum but been lurking for about 2 or so years. I have a problem with the car and hofully someone had the exact same problem and can help me out or point me to the right direction. My 2009 lancer gts has the battery indicator on. I was advise it was the alternator so I got that replace by a licensed mechanic. The battery is new aswell since it was due for a new one last year. Now I am still having the battery indicator light up. I check if the alternator is charging the battery and it does not.
My questions are, where else can it go wrong? Can the wiring relay be the problem? Is there a fuse somewhere where the problem can occure? I'm pretty much at lost. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Sorry I don't know where it would be on a Lancer, if its like the Evo it will be under a red cover to the right (looking into the engine bay from in front of the car) of the engine. The Evo has the battery in the trunk though and I don't know if the lancer is the same.
However I would expect the location of the fuse to be noted in your owners manual. It will be a very large fuse, not like the regular ones.

Can't you take it back to the mechanic that installed it? If I pay a mechanic to replace something on my car and it does not work afterwards I would be getting my money back

Called him told me to bring it back but with what is going right now I'm going to hold off until summer. I am just trying to see what other things I and him overlooked at.
Here is my fusible link, can anyone tell me if it's good? I don't have a voltmeter now but I just ordered. I am also getting a new battery. If anyone can help me diagnose this problem that would be great. I can also pay if you are in my are (Brampton, Ontario, CA). I really need this to get fix. My mechanic is now closed and currently don't have one reliable.
