Angry problem with ac controls

Has anyone had problems with their blower speed switch in their lancers? The problem I have is that from 1 to 3 the blower doesn't blow any air in the car, but on 4 it blows at max speed but with no ac. When I put the switch in 1, 2, and 3 the ac button will light up when I select it, but when I put it to 4 it goes off, and won't light up even if I press it.

if your car is still under warrenty and you haven't vioded warrenty yet...take it to the dealer...let then fix that ****...that is what i did with my ac control, but mine was sticking...they should fix it for free...good luck with that though

Definitely dealership issue. Don't even bother with the HVAC yourself.

I took it there today and they said it was a blown resistor for the blower.

Nice and simple fix assuming the resistor is easy to access.

Ended up being a simple fix. The resistor is behind the ECU.

Do you happen to have the part number for that resistor, since I'm having exactly the same problem as you. Correction, my fiancee is having that same issue in her '02 Lancer.

MR568591...I think. It says "heater resistor", but it's the only thing that shows up in CAPS for "resistor".

Yup, its located behind the glovebox, then, you have to unbolt and slide-down the ECU partially and it's right behind there. Do a search for "Blower Resistor" and you'll get more results.

If anyone runs into this same problem, review the discussion at:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/la...may-going.html

After much thought, it was confirmed that my blower/motor was starting to rust, which was causing it to draw too much current, causing the blower resistors to die.
