hmmm makes me kind of sad there is no down pipe, how much more gains would i expect with a down pipe, ill get a header from you guys if you are planning on making a downpipe in the near future. Cuz you have been saying you are making the rest of the exhaust for a long time and havnt seen it. So if its gonna take that long i dont think ill pick the header up.

card # yet
Rock you guys going to get a carb # so every one in cal can smog the car without having to put back on the crapy exhaust manifold I am not to shure but the car still falls under obd2 smog BS . you think the reff woukd go for dual inline hiflow cats like the mustang cobra if that thing got a card sticker a 2.0 should be cake but I am thinking this would drive the price throug the roof

Can't do smog legal header guys. It doesn't have a cat which is mostly the point. Right?

Glad you answered that one Rock, Im started laughing uncontrollably halfway through Shaggy's post, just trying to contemplate how a cat-less header would be smog legal. Nothing against you SHaggy, just thought it was funny.
turbo dont affect smog test
think about it
all it doese is crams more air into the engine thus burning more fuel
were you would think that would make for worse emissions
but it doesnt because the more fuel and air you burn the hotter everything gets specialy the cat's
the hotter they are the more efficient they are and the more emissions they take out
hey rob have you tried to smog test the lancer with only the one cat on the downpipe/ mid section
my friend works for a emissions place and he thinks it will still pass with only the one

oh yea it will because the road race header uses the same flange set up the two bolt, that uses the stock downpipe
witch will bolt directly to the up pipe for the turbo
the kamakazi uses the threebolt flange and woudnt be able to use the stock downpipe or the turbo up pipe because of the three bolt design
the only problem really besides the diamiter on the stock downpipe is the squashed part right after the flex piping
other then that the downpipe looks pretty desent
but yea rob it would be nice to have a downpipe
maybe i could have the uhm test production model?
