To get anything remotely close to 15 psi, you're gonna have to do some serious internal work. Someone with more knowledge on the subject can tell you all about it.

Your not going to be running 20 psi on our lancer motor. The pistons won't take it, neither the rods. I'm sure from what liquidlancer says, you'll be totally satisfied with 8lbs of boost. I'm guessing we would have to drive a turbo lancer with 8 psi to fully understand. yz250crit, if your goal is 200hp, you don't have to open your motor. Would you really buy vavles and springs?

I agree with RPW, 7 psi max with automatic. Element you are way off. Boost number like 15 are not possible because of many limitations of stock engine and auto trans. Intercooled piping will not fit around trans. We have done custom one but it require more mods than are reasonable for a kit and piping is too hard to build without the car there. At low boost intercooler is not needed because intake temps are still rather low. We checked it ourselves. Lowered price on intercooled setup as well. See our website.

if you wanted to run an intercooled set-up at higher psi, say12-15. what other mods would be needed....psitons, rods, etc

Rock if you keep boost in safe range with auto do you think the transmission will still hold up thru the long term?

Does the auto still respond pretty well with your turbo?

We recommend putting and enlarged transmision oil cooler on automatic. That will help keep trans intact long term.

Did you happen to drive the auto with your turbo on it?

manual tranny:

1-6 psi non intercooled turbo kit

6-8 psi intercooled turbo kit

8-10 psi decompress engine to about 8.5:1, probably upgraded clutch & lsd

10-13 psi decompress, clutch, lsd, and forged pistions, stock ECU at its limits here

13+ psi decompress, clutch, lsd, forged pistons, forged rods, stand alone fuel management...probably jus replace everything while your at it.

15+psi i don't know how well the tranny will hold above this mark.

i'm sure there are thing's i'm missing...but this is a general main idea on major components at various boost levels.

automatic:

non IC kit up to 5-7 psi...thats about all you can do

the reason i ask, is because after exhaust, headers, hi-flow cat, cam shaft, throttle body, and vavle spings. i would like to run a intercooled set-up and try to get about 200-215 whp. is that even possible without replacing my engine
