Remember in auto format with the same mod, the manual will always win in a shootout by .5 to 1.5 sec. There is nothing can be really done on 3rd gear for auto tranny, unless creating a 5 spd auto tranny like in the top model BMWs. The only exceptions to this case would be some WRXs and Supras.

As for all those sportronic type tranny, they are still slower than manual. Only Porsche was able to limit its performance lost to manual by .5 to 1 sec. That's it.

is this % increase dependent on mods or is that on a stock lancer? And cam we expect more if we had a few mods, intake exhaust ect?

It is really simple and has been covered time and time again... Mods increase the effects... reason being is that you mods are never fully taken advantage of until your fuel and timing is made to accommodate the mods. This is also relating to the octane of fuel as the closer you get to max output of the motor for the mods on it the higher the octane needs to be to prevent unwanted pinging and detonation. Its a fact of life as i've said before... if you want speed you gotta go all the way... thats gas, mods, and tune. If not your just doing bits and pieces and will always be slower than you could be. Its the "Icing on the Cake" as it were... without it your cake is plain and lacking flavor!

Auto guys... the tranny is a limiting factor due to its gearing and strength but better to get the most out of it then a half assed try I say. I've seen some respectable NA auto's out there when all was done completely. It's all about where your happy with the car... for me the quest for more never stops for some a header and test pipe is enough. You have to decide for yourself which person you are!

What about liek someone mentioned... is the 10-12% increase or whatver the numbers were based on a stock Lancer or is like 10% a stock Lancer and 12% a 'non stock' Lancer?

my best guess would be from current setup.. so ifyou have intake/exhaust.. you already have some % better over stock.. so chip would increase new #s a % higher now...

It is redundant with SAFC. It does much more than that. You would run one or the other.

OK i think im going to get one and maybe a turbo.. But my question for this piggyback is what if some one else fills my gas tank up with 89. I always use 91 but if my dad takes my car out he thinks he does me a favor and fills the tank with 89. So what if i have the piggy back and this happens? Also how about if i get turbo can i just take it off and sell on ebay? Will my car run just like before with out it? does RRM take paypal???thanks
