I don't care how much HP a Cobra will have. I will beat it anytime from a slow rolling start or from a stop with ease as long as the road is WET.

I know people say they've seen cobras run 12.x in the quarter, but that seems to be a rare case. It depends on the driver and the individual car, some cobras come with 370hp to the wheels, while some freaks come with 390hp to the wheels. That applies to the evo just the same, of course. One magazine tested at 13.08 in the quarter, while others test at 13.6, so again, it depends on the car. I'm not trying to be the magazine racer here, just pointing out that on average the cars are more even then some people think.

Modding them is another question all together. When I bought my evo, I thought I had a car that was ridiculously easy to modify, which it is, but not in comparison to a cobra (at least for the engine). The cobra makes 450whp with an intake, exhaust, chip, pulley, and idlers, which can be as cheap as $1500 or so. However, that only puts them into the low 12's, at best, on street tires. Evos, while more expensive, can do that with 350whp on street tires. I know the top end is great in a cobra, and they will pull pretty hard from a roll, but thats only a part of the equation. Evos have the advantage of running 12's in the quarter and NOT having to bring a pit crew to change the tires after running at the track.
