Plus Motor Trend always tests fast, the EVO they tested ran the 1/4 mile in 13.0 seconds, so I doubt the new Mustang will in reality hit 60mph in under 5 seconds with the manual tranny. I believe Road and Track and Car and/or Driver have tested the car, and it has ran with the manual transmission 13.8-14.0 Seconds. You see that is why magazine tests can be tricky, of course they should be noted, but magazine tests should just be looked as part of the equation, not the whole answer.

Nice, bag on us, because we "test fast". I guess we should test slower? That's a new one...

My guess would be that you've never, ever, set foot in an SVO Mustang or a 2000 Cobra R or the Bullitt Mustang that all have great handling and are quite impressive on the track. And yes, I driven them all on the track as well as my Evo. Their are other great cars in this world besides the Evo, and some of them are Mustangs.

Of course I could say that comparing an SRT-4 to an Evo on the track is like coming a fork to a knife, but even though I spent my hard-earned money on the Evo I still appreciate what Dodge has done with the SRT-4.

What's the big issue with the numbers? As we like to say, they (the numbers) are what they are. I was there when that Evo ran the thirteen, it's brilliantly simple really, that's what it ran, that car, that track, that day.

If you like the mustang so much maybe you should go to www.chickcarofthecentury.com or www.fordlivesofthepastandcallsitretro.com

But on a serious note the car is quick, and no true car guy has ever doubted their performance capabilty.
Hahaha, Tell him the way it is.

Uh, right.

New Mustang = BRING IT. They will be no faster than the current Mach mustangs and I've burned a few of those so badly the guys just limped off in shame

perhaps you should re-read my statement. Never said any car tests fast, I said the magazine publication Motor Trend tends to test their test vehicles faster than other magazine publications. Ok if the Mustang is a 13.6 car, than the EVO is a 13.0 car, cuz that's what Motor Trend tested one at.

i don't doubt the 13.0, but the mods to get there. maybe he's hidding he has 4.30 gears, and some serious weight reduction besides all the mods he listed already... no wonder it was so easy to beat that 05 GT .
i'm still waiting for that low 13's slip out of any of the new 05 GT's. so far the magazines are winning the contest, unreal __________________
