They are NA. I think they could put out that kind of power, 270 HP. The Audi TT puts out 250 crank hp and it has the same power plant as the R32. So what's 20 to 30 HP with bolt on? It's passable. Maybe the guy has more stuff done to it but I do know it's not FI. The SC puts the car around 320± crank HP. I'm not trying to say it's all that. I know the EVO and STi push more HP and is quicker than the R32. I was trying to talk cars with you guys.

Are you talking about numbers @ the wheels now or at the crank?? I am lost

Here at EVOm we all talk about numbers @ the wheels

My last post, I was talking at the crank but my first post was at the wheels. The R32 has around 25% drive train loss. If the car is putting down 230 to the wheels, its around 280 or so to the crank. I was guessing getting the car to 270 to 280 crank HP shouldn't be that hard with bolt on goods.

You guys really need to read before you type, this R32 is not stock it has alittle bit of mods, it is stated in the first post. 232WHP is good, but it is not more than what EVOs dyno on the same dyno. On Mustang dynos, Evos have dynoed anywhere from 240WHP to as high as 260WHP. Author of this thread, that is great that you want to talk cars, but how about you give us alittle more info, such as what mods were used and etc.

Just to show what the R32 can do with little mods.

Not true at all. There's not a 40WHP variance between those types of dynos. I dynod at 285w on a Mustang AWDyno last spring, and about 295 the same week on a Dynojet. It's all how it's set up. Take that sucka to the track and see what kind of #s it puts up. That's a true test of the actual power.

All that aside, I think the R32's a pretty cool car, but I wouldn't pay that much for it...

Ok I took the time to post your mods over here. These are the mods that are on the R32:

APR CHIP running on Shell 93 octane gas
Neuspeed Power Pulley Kit
GHL CAI Intake
Techtonics resonator + flapper mod (stock exhaust)

That is a nice gain of power, approx. 40WHP gain over stock, not bad for a NA Volkswagen. More power is usually made, but that is with forced inducted cars, 40WHP gain on the NA R32 is very good. Where from there? Pretty much forced induction is the only logical route?

True but FI on a German car is high $$$$. Before I bought the R32, I was going to keep my 96 GTI VR6 and turbo it. To do a good FI setup, it was going to cost well over $10k. Then I knew I would have tracktion issues so I decided to put that money down on the R32. Yeah, it's a big fat pig but it's quick for what it is.

I didn't know you did this on a 4WD dyno, even more impressive, good post, but you really needed to provide us with more info from the start. Anyhow good numbers and let's see what she does in the 1/4?

Somethhing is up with that dyno graph. HP & Torque should intersect @ 5252 RPM. It can't be accurate. I own a VR6 and it should be making more low end torque too. I call BS

A year ago today I bought my EVO! I had been atop the R32 waiting list for 6 months, but I finally came to my senses. Only 240bhp from 3.2 litres was (to put it politely) underwhelming. Moreover, tuning it would take the disposable income of an oil sheik (see HPA Motorsports). Still, its a nice car to drive and the Konig seats rock.
