But that's putting down 225 to two wheels, the 231 is on an all wheel dyno. EIP Tuning disabled the rear wheels and put their Turbo R32 on a two wheel dyno. Here is a video.

well my favorite thing about the evo is how easy/cheap it is to mod.

sure you could make a minivan go fast.. but think about how much work/time/money it takes to do so..

the evo out of the box is a monster.. and for very few/cheap mods its even better.

although im a huge fan of the 4g63 in general.

im almost considering getting my hands on a 97 talon. less money into the car and can be the same as my evo.. or at least close. plus they look so damn secksi with that little spoiler.

ooh and im a huge fan of the early mirage. sure it looks like crap but its soooo fast. ( with a 4g63 swap). www.lilevo.com for more details.. i totally sweat this car!!!

No dealer knows what they are talking about for any car manufacture but their customer service was great with me. My father Passat has something 90K on it with no issues at all. I had an MK2 with 190K with no problems!!!.

Please don’t compare mitsu**** service to VW
why not compare it?? they are both bad at best...VW is known for bad service...perhaps you had a good dealership...that happens with mitsubishi too...some dealers are very mod/warranty friendly, but most are not...same can be said for VW...their service dept blows, their sales dept blows, and their parts dept blows...their cars are steadily getting more reliable...but from 99-03 they hit a low point among all manufacturers in service and warranties...now mits is taking the lead in that category (worst)...

but between failed MAFs, window regulators, ECUs, coil packs, warranties being voided...recalls on on those parts...how can you even begin to say their service is top notch??

the older model VWs are another story...but we are talking about new cars...older evos didnt need service as much as the newer evos do either...VW service has gone downhill...there is no way you can argue that

lol you dont have time for me??

how exactly am i pulling **** from my ***?? check my screenname on vortex...i have nearly 3000 posts on there...my username is 1.8Tagger...

i owned a 2003 VW Jetta 1.8t GLS for 2 years...I never personally had any problems with it, but I havent had any problems with my evo either...yet I still know Mits's service sucks...

I bought my VW from a girl that didnt know anything about anything...she had no idea what a 1.8t was or what a GLS was...and everytime I called the dealer about a question about parts or warranty, they were not so quick to help...they told me the same BS mits told me when I bought the car...EVEN A DROP IN FILTER WILL VOID WARRANTY...hows that for service??

VW syncros are just as bad if not worse in their trannies than Mits...the o2j tranny can hold a LOT of hp, but if you power shift or even shift hard, you might as well kiss your tranny goodbye...

Here is a small compilation of warranty complaints as well as dealership complaints directly from the horses mouth:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1706372
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1664056
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1618217

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1609176
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1582996

if you would like more complaints about warranties or service, please do a search on vortex for "Warranty" in the archives...there were 10+ pages of results and I pulled those select few just from the first 2 pages...mind you these results are from the MK4 forum ONLY

Now I will do an archived search for "dealership"...261 results...again, results are only from MK4 forum:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1718593
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1719037
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1588524

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1550119
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1534185

again, 8 pages of results from that search and I posted threads from the top half of the first page....

I also did a search for "recall" which yielded 236 results...i will not bother to post those up, b/c if you dont know about VW's recent coilpack, maf, and window regulator problems, you dont need to be trying to debate this with me...

please take the time to read the threads I posted before you come back spewing nonsense about how I dont know what im talking about...VW enthusiasts will even tell you VW's service is not always desirable...

I guess my *** is pretty knowledgable about VWs eh?

I guess my *** is pretty knowledgable about VWs eh?

Now I have 10 min for you then I have a meeting

1- You owned one and one used Jetta so no experience there.
2- I owned more than 5 VWs. Let me count them for you
A-99 GOlF 2.0
B-00 GTI 1.8T
C-16V GTI MK2
D- Passat 2001.5
E- GTI 2003 1.8T
F- GTI 8V Mk2
G- R32 Golf

With all these cars above and many mile and different dealers I had no issues at all and dealers from Cali to VA have kissed my a$$. I had bad axle on my 2003GTI it was replaced next day and they gave me a rental and said sorry more than 10 times. VW been in business for along time and they do honor their warranty all the way.

After all of course their service is not going to be better than BMW or Benz but they are pretty good for the level of the car that you are getting. Lets compare them with Mitsu. Holy $hit. Mitsu hires the youngest un-experienced people. They don’t know how to sale their cars and they don’t know what brembo means .

I am sure some people had issues with VW but its no where close to the issues that we are having with our evos and their $hity customer service.

About synchros. I have a pull here about how many EVOs had tranny issues and more than %75 had bad synchros. I was just driving the R32 and shifting like crazy not even 1 grind, try doing that on my EVO .

I am not saying they are the best but they are pretty good and they respect their customers and their cars are way more reliable than Mitsu$hit.

ok I have no time be back

hahaha... both of you guys are arguing about 2 sh*tty car companies/dealerships. If youre buying a Mit or a VW cause of the warrenty/customer service, youre looking looking in the wrong place. Like said in a earlier post, its hit or miss with a VW and it also seems to apply to Evo's as well.

and just the fact that you have owned 5 VWs and are one year younger than me says something

won't a 3rd gear pull give you slightly higher HP #s because there's less time for the dyno to react to the increased spinning speed of the drum?

Not hatin, just tryin to get some info.
