stock...it's not THAT fast, but for it's time is awesome technology and potential

with mods, it's anybody's game....the faster car is usually the guy with the deepest pockets

 

for the guy who said that the new c6 is slow and was running 13's with all the bolt-ons, here's a vid of a c6 with bolt-ons (well, CAM, and my friend that posted thinks he has heads too and gears if he remembers correctly):

either way, they run high 12's bone stock (not as fast as a z06 because of gearing)

funny how you guys think you own everything though...for every fast evo, there are 1,000 vipers, vettes, cobras, mustangs, camaros that are faster, and the vettes and vipers can take them on road courses too, unless it's raining

 

Where does a Supra rate? It depends on the vehicle prep and the driver.

Really, if the Supra has 'race' brake pads and high temp brake fluid, and if there has been any suspension tuning (tire pressures, springs, shocks) and if the driver is experienced OR if the car has racing tires and/or if it is a dedicated track car that doesn't have to be used to go to work the next day, or isn't worth a frigging fortune, it could be really fast.

funny thing, here at the home of the vette, only 2 vettes within a 3 hundred mile radius can beat me.. and quess what, none are c6. and both run 9's. there are no 10 second or 11 second vettes here.

the video: id like to see what that guy does on street tires. his launch was everything in that race.

also, i think its funny how you campare amount of fast domestic cars that have been around for 40-50 years, to a car that has already run 9's and been in the states for around 2 years

 

Evo uses a macpherson strut up front.... arguably the worst basic configuration for an independent suspension. So what's your point?

i have yet to see a bone stock Evo break mid 13's and trap over 106mph, lol...throw mods in the picture and it's anybody's game (usually the guy with the biggest pocket)

umm, it does...in fact, stock for stock with two great drivers, it's not even close....a stock z06 can easily run 12.1-12.3 and trap about 116mph ( great drivers have hit 11's bone stock all accross the country).....it's hard enough to get a stock Evo in the 13's, let alone trap anything over 105mph (unless you abuse your awd launches)....z06's also handle .98-1.02 on the skid pad and outhandle evo's generally unless you are racing in a parking lot around cones....but people on this board think that the Evo is the car to end all cars laid down by God himself

funny how i came on this board because i like Evos, but all my posts so far have been enlightening ignorant guys on this board.....i was hoping to get to know some people and meet up at car gatherings (i have a lot of friends with Sti's, cobras, etc. all kinds of fast cars) but it seems most people here have the Evo too far up their a$$

 

The evo got moved from the T1 (Z06's, Vipers) to the T2 category for SCCA road racing. Think about that...

damn dude, your way wrong with that. i have yet to see any zo6 break 12.5 bone stock, or 112 bone stock, and i live at the vettes home city. there any many zo6's here, and many vette weekends. at beech bend, the average zo6 runs 12.7. not saying thats not fast, but nowhere what your saying. listen, im sure some dude if a far off land can run a low 12 (i might question what tires he used) but from the many many many zo6's runs ive seen, it just doesnt happen as much as you are acting like it does. i mean hell, ive seen a evo bone stock run 12s. but all i could get out of mine was a 13.4 bone stock.

 

im talking about street form. but then again, locking out a diff is alot different than mounting drag slips. what i was saying is.. my car not using my awd launch can nearly trap that c6's mph with the slicks. obviously, that c6 was all launch. not saying its not impressive, cause its still quick. but i dont need to use awd to be near that car.

 

OK - What's with the fascination between a Vette and an Evo? They are two different class vehicles. Is it just about bragging that a 32k car can (beat) a 48K car?? Who cares!! It's all about developing your driving skills - not about which car I smoked.

2005 Z06 vs. Evo. If I had the cash flow I would get the z06 for sure but higher insurance premiums and monthly mortgage like payments are not my thing. Both cars rock and are #1 in their respected classes.
