Find me a 500hp Evo that can drive for 100k miles before the engine requires a rebuild, the transmission explodes or it needs a new clutch.[/QUOTE]
What about an FQ 400? Straight from the factory with 3 years warranty

ugh... i can't take it anymore.
At my first autocross event I saw a Yugo beat the crap out of a stock C5 which beat the crap out of a cammed Evo and a stock C4
Most of these autocross stories amount to nothing more than driver skill and how suited your car is for the course. On that particular day the cones were tight and turn radius small and miatas ruled the day.
As for myself, arguing the relative merits of the vehicles, I will say this.
I think the vette looks a LOT better on the outside
I think the vette looks noticeably better on the inside
I prefer the seating position of the vette
I prefer the seat 'style' of the vette (softer GT type seats vs the Evo seats which feel too small for my big ***)
I prefer the throttle response of the vette
I prefer the community surrounding the vette
and finally
I prefer the way it handles. The Evo feels 'twitchy' to me (as another poster put it)
There's no reason to argue opinions though. Everyone is allowed their own.

Did anyone mention the steering, and steering wheel of both cars?
Love the sport wheel in the evo,,,,, Vettes have what reminds me of a wagon wheel.
As if they just swipped it off a silverado,,,,, the thing is HUGEEEE.

A lot of people feel that the Evo is "superior" to every other car on the road because it's "cheap and easy to mod for power" and easy to drive fast.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great car to drive and I love my Evo. But sometimes I think the smile on your face after a spirited drive is the most important factor. As long as you're having a blast driving your car, who cares what other people think?
BTW, street racing is stupid.
