Common sense isn't too common around here. Read some of the posts - some of the owners here seem to think their car can beat everything ever made.

 

I've never driven a Vette so I can't comment but I can say that base on specs alone - the Vette is faster.

i raced z06's stock, and decently modified, only in my current trim can i beat them. but, i have also beatin vipers and a ferrari 360... so you see what it takes to beat a stock zo6.

it takes one hell of a driver to get an Evo into the 12's, just like it takes one hell of a driver to get a z06 in the 11's.......but a good driver can EASILY run low 12's all day...either way, an Evo's best case scenario doesn't compare to the Z's best times

 

pb24 is much, much closer to reality than rt turbo boi. I see 116-117mph traps all day long on bone stock '02+ Z06s here DFW, elapsed time in very low 12's (for the better Z06 drivers). There are a few guys on Corvetteforum who have run high 11's at 117mph completely stock except for drag radials.

A modded Evo can pull on a stock Z06, a modded Z06 can pull on a modded Evo. What's your point?

Please show me ANY Evo that has trapped 145+mph. Drop your $50k off at Ligenfelter give them another $50k to do their 427TT package and you have 650+rwhp and 650+rwtq.

Dragstrip ... yeah duh.. a z06 will win.
But on a roadcourse ... its mostly driver.

 

Funny how nobody mentioned the 11's were on slicks until now. When I went to the track on a few occasions I got to race or watch a few vettes and they ran mid 12's to high 12's every time I have witnessed them. One of the guys even had slicks and he was still hitting low to mid 12's.

This thread was about someone giving their personal opinion on a test drive and some people turned it into a pissing contest. Unfortunately you get this behavior on every damn forum you go to.

The vette handles great, great acceleration, and I personally like the interior styling of the new Z06.

 

I don't think I could drop $50K on a Vette, no matter how well it performs, when you can get into a really nice used 911 for that sort of cash. 911's are cool. I guess some people still care about the Vette.

 

I've heard of a few on stock rubber. They just dropped the tire pressure.

I know the ability of the driver determines the times they put down. I just stated from my experience of viewing and racing that car at the track only yielded the ****** times I stated. Learn how to read you f*cktard. In all my trips to the track I have NEVER, EVER seen a stock corvette run a high 11 PERIOD. I am sorry if this statement is too hard for you to understand.

let's all play nice, fellas. we're all car enthusiasts, that's what we have in common. you can joke about stuff, but eventually ego's get tripped. i hear same **** on honda-tech. ppl have clips where they beat evo's on road course in civic hatch etc etc. it always goes like this: buy car X that u can afford, mod it for X amount of $ that u can afford...proceed to beat a guy with car Y with Y amount of $ in mods. it gets old.
look, there's nothing wrong if some car is faster than urs...what's the big f'in deal? can't u sleep on it? i don't care which one is t3h f4st4rZ. if i could afford a vette and it had the practicality that i want, i would get it. i sat in C6 and it is very nice, i like the driving position and 2 doors and i'm sure it's stupid fast. there r faster cars than my evo (including other evos), but i still like those cars. i think many ppl don't have the ***** to admit being slower. it takes a man to acknowledge a defeat. instead they start bashing either domestics or rice burners. give it a fudging rest!
also about skidpad numbers. i agree with someone who pointed out that those numbers don't always mean better handling. it only shows overall grip in a steady state. doesn't show suspension's dynamic response and transient states (that's what slalom tests do). anyway. everyone, quit ur b!tchin and go for a drive instead of reading this thread.

 

F*ck you. Im only here to see how my car fares against your cars. Im not here to flame anyone Im just stating how things are from my side of things. Im sorry if I pissed you off. I know my car isnt the best in the world (but its damn close j/k). Yours isnt either. We both like them a lot, I love every veichle I own. I guess the new C6 ZO6 rumored to do mid/high 11s and with a few minor mods it will do 10s. I would love to have one but there is no way I will sell all of my cars so I can have one car that is probaly just as fast as my SS or drag car. I have driven the C6 and boy does it handle. I was in the twistes with my friend and we sure had fun.
