EVO vs. SRT-4 Competition???
3000ways,
why do u think ur the man and own the best car ever.... always trying to start something. sure there are fast evo's, but not you. last i checked u ran mid 13's in a ix rs.... PATHETIC, LOL.... stop acting like the evo is the best car ever and u own a ton of records... with ur driving skill the only record u own is best mpg....
get off ur high horse, cause when u man up and start racing with ur skill ur gonna get owned by a stock srt from a roll lol
good luck with ur pos lol

Ok I don't know what irrates me more, your weak *** comment or the fact that I didn't get a chance to read this tell recently, so now I am so late in responding. Ok so what is your problem dude? When did I ever say I was the man, infact I consider myself a very poor drag racer, so no argument there. You want to here me say it, fine, I am a bad drag racer. But just to let you know, my mid 13s where when the car was stock, my only other time running the 1/4 mile was with a TBE, filter, MBC, and a half tune and I ran low 13s. 98% of my runs are on a 1/8th mile and they are high 7s to low 8s now, again, not great at all, and I am the last person to say it is great, but not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. My worst problem is my lack of experience, yes I do drag race somewhat a lot, but the gap between races is like 3 to 4 months, and sometimes longer. Only once have I had a chance to go back to back to the drag strip and my time improved greatly. But I do not usually have the time to go to the drag strip back to back, and the EVO remains my sole means of transportation, I drive my car a lot. I already have 34,000 miles on my EVO and putting it through too much abuse could mean losing my sole mean of transportation and that would really hurt.
I am trying to find your logic though, you say I act like I own a whole bunch records, really, please find all my posts where I say I own any record at all
Please show me where I think I am on some high horse, when I am the first person to agree that my drag racing abilities is lacking. Are you upset with me because I think the EVO is an awesome car, well, sorry, nothing will change that. I will always love and admire the EVO, for what is does. Does that mean I think it is the best car ever, NO, and if you disagree with that, then again please find any of my posts where I say the EVO is the best car ever. Also I am trying to find your logic of how my lack of driving abilities means my car is a POS, which by the way is a EVO, the same POS you drive dumb f*ck. Oh you have a MR, oh so your so special, but maybe perhaps I was just a little smarter than you and felt like well damn I can get this brand new EVO IX RS for $25,999 and save myself a little money. My POS EVO (again an EVO just like yours) has lasted me 34,000 miles with out a single out of the ordinary major problem, the same can't be said for any of the cars I've owned before. This POS EVO will be traveling 50 miles to beach today, with a BBQ grill, table, 8 chairs, and butt load of food in the car. Oh yeah a front passenger too. This POS EVO, is the greatest POS I ever owned, and if this is a POS, then I for sure cannot wait till I own a car that isn't a POS.Perhaps 4 wheel sludge, you are the one who needs to get off your high horse, and also maybe you should pay a little more attention and then you can see that I started this thread over 2 years ago and my feelings have changed greatly in 2 years. But the EVO is still a better car than the SRT-4, the only thing the SRT-4 has over the EVO is a cheaper price. That doesn't mean the SRT-4 isn't a great car, it is, but sorry the EVO is better.
Holy Thread Revival...lol.
Currently own my second Srt....great car for what it is. That's it. Go onto the srtforums and ask any of those guys if they had to pick between a free evo or free srt....99.99% will say Evo....no doubt. The srt guys dont deny that the evo is the better car. Like some guy said earlier , it's that whole david and goliath syndrome. The inferior group challenging the dominant group just to see how they stack up. Granted alot of these immature srt drivers talk smack just to do it....but so do evo drivers(roll up rear windows comment
).
Would I like to see a little "friendly" competition b/w the two? Absolutely. Not for bragging rights, but just to see how they stack up. Hate to say it to the subie guys...but I think it would be a closer matchup b/w the srts and evo's. It seems there are alot more srt's deep into the 11's/10's than there are subies(dont bite my head off if i'm wrong
). This post really doesnt have much direction...sorry for that.

I would rather see an evo mustang comp. I dont know about where you live. but around here, the srt-4 owners are very cool. The mustang crowd on the other most of them are a$$holes.
But all the same racing is fun, legally of course.

Honestly...all the srt drivers I've met are pretty decent.....then again they are all mid 20's to early 30's. So that whole teenager thing has already worn off. Sad to say it, but the younger crowd is more the rule than the exception.
By the sounds of your first post I think you have...
A. a lack of knowledge even to use as a foundation
B. and ignorance about you that would lead us to believe you are exactly that person you say you dislike and would like to see the smashing of the ego
C. Your terminology is enough to show that you are indeed at high risk of ricerphyscosis or however you spell that
Q: Is the SRT-4 competition?
A: It depends on how it is applied, in a straight line? Yes indeed it is... My SRT-4 with an AGP WGA set at 18psi spike with a 16/15psi fall/hold, and a 3" TBE (total $700 in mods) did indeed run a 13.2 @ 102mph with crappy street tires
Q: Is the SRT-4 a capable handler?
A: Fing right it is, an SRT-4 with coilovers, sway and strut bars can easily hang with an EVO on a dry track and if it is modded (ie. 50 Trim, GT30R or whatever) it will reel you in in the straights.
Q: Does it matter?
A: No youre an idiot who in the process of attempting to smash egos will
a. demolish your clutch and or drivetrain attempting 5500RPM dumps to get the jump
b. kill yourself because you can't drive
or c. There is no C because this is teh ghey thread.

I have raced a stage 2 Srt-4 on drag radials at the drag strip I was stock exept for a stage 3 kevlar clutch.... I beat him by at least 2 cars... he said he was tuning his Air Fuel mixture so I gave him another chance and I still beat him by 2 cars... So I say yes so I can stomp on the Srt-4... The only fast 1 I have seen is a 50trim Srt-4 I think hes pushing 420whp?? Dont quote me on that, He spent way over $15,000 on it, Which in my opinion isnt worth it...
420WHP+FWD = Massive Torque Steer!

I am going to agree with the other guy (evobutt3er). There should be an evo vs mustang comp. I personally like most of the srt 4 guys. The ones I have met at UTSA here in San Antonio are pretty cool people and are pretty mature.
Except for one guy who drives a black srt4 which is suppose to be the fastest here in town so I hear I met him he was extremely cocky and pretty annoying to be honest. You have to give the other car respect I think even if its a car you dont like or couldnt see yourself in. I personally dont like srt-4 and they really arent the car for me but I respect them for what can do. From my time as an evo owner I would say that the STi, and Srt4 crowd here is really cool well most of em. Some of the cobra people are also pretty good people. The majority of the evo people I have met here are kind of stuck up.

Depeding on where this is, there is two SRT4s in our club that would gladly take up this challenge. One is a AMS 2.8 w/ 35r and the other is an undisclosed setup. Both very fast. They are cool cats too. If this really happens, they would be down...
my opnion, srt4 is a fast car on a straight line for what is worth. i actually race a modded srt4 and even let him take off first. i was able to catch him right away and blew by him when i switch to 3rd gear. after i beat him, i slowed down and he actually gave me a thumbs up for the race. there will always be few bad apples on the tree. that goes to all car owners (mustangs, sti, srt4, evo, etc) just my 2 cents.
PS. a 50 Trim kit is no $15000 into the car genius, a 50 trim kit can be had for under $3000 dollars and is good for 400+ whp. In fact with under $2000 you can make an easy 310whp and almost 400 ft lbs of torque on the stock turbo. I have a friend who did both a 50 trim and a GT30R with his SRT-4 and he had a total investment of about $4000 for his 50 trim w/ supporting mods. I helped him install and tune the car as well. Like they say about the war in iraq, if you have no experience in it, STFU. $15,000 into an SRT-4 with a 50 trim kit BWAHAHAHAHAH... I put down 255whp and 302ft lbs of torque with $650 dollars in mods.
