modding M3 will cost you insane amount of money. it is not worth it to spend that much to mod. That is why you don't see modded M3 that often. but 350z you can mod the heck out and still have money to spend on something else. if you wanna mod, you should buy mod friendly car. M3 is kind of car that you drive as is.

very true. there are SC kits available for around 1ok, but youll still run mid 12s...its fast granted, and would be pretty rare.

if it's an e46...sell it buy a new evo spend 5 grand it mods...it will be faster than the M3 and he will still have 3-5 k left over....if he wants a fast car that he can "mod". If that is not an option I don't see the question here...the M3 is a far better engineered car than the 350z (duh, it cost twice as much, we aren't talking supreme luxury cars where people are like...Yeah but my Aston Martin cost 220K ) and it's obvious he can offord it b/c he owns it. if it's a last gen M3 ...get rid of that slow thing! If he absolutely has to sell it I would buy an Evo...pimp it stock then buy an old 240 and do the wrench turning on it to learn on it and satisfy his "mod" jonz...

BMW's cost more to own, especially the M3 with it's high strung engine. Both are great cars, but they were built with different purposes in mind. I'd rather have a G35 coupe than a 350Z.

^I agree, I'd rather mod and add forced-induction to a G35 coupe than mod and maintain the M3. Just because the BMW is almost twice as much as a 350Z doesn't mean it's engineered twice as well. I'm mostly interested in the engines that come with the cars, and the VQ series is a perennial award winner and considered one of the best available, just like the M3's engine.
