Wrong, its NOT a flat-6. Its a inline-6. This isn't a Porsche or Scooby here.

Yeah, the RB26DETT has stronger internals that can handle upwards of 800-900hp on STOCK internals. Being that the Evo is a 4, I don't think it can handle anything over 700hp on STOCK internals, as would the Silvia.

Hmmm. If it were just me, I'd go for the GT-R circa 1998.

As a family car, the Skyline bites.

Still, an Evo V TME kicks the VIII's butt, in my books.

skyline got the inline 6 twin turbo, evo is an I4 turbo

the skyline is alittle chubby but not like a 3000gt, "hella light" is alittle too much to describe the evo, is not bad compare to other cars, prolly around 3000 exact and the 8 is 32xx lbs..."hella light" would be more like an elise ...

ill take the evo just for blind fan loyalty, they're pretty even IMO when compared (as a whole)

i'd like a skyline GT-T tho (or whichever is the FR one w/ the TT engine, if it exists )

Assuming this means money is no option then I wouldn't even catch a glimpse of the Evo in my rush to get to the GTR. I love Evo's but were they the same price, the Evo wouldn't even be a consideration. And actually I've read of a R-34 GTR V-spec II that was tuned to 1400HP (obviously not using stock internals, but you get the picture) and that's only 100HP short of the gas-turbine engine used to power the M1 Abrams tank which weighs upwards of 70 tons. I seriously doubt 1 out of 20 GTR's are left stock and they are simply FAR more tuneable than an Evo. That said, I still LOVE the Evo and it's definitely the best for it's price.

Billy,
It was just a base comparison...I know the GTR is a badass car and I just got the info from www.skylinegtr.com. I really do not know how much they really go for in the states and how much horsepower they can actually put out because the GTR is a car that is far out of my reach.

I think MotoRex sells them for about 90K bone stock, RHD. Definitely not for the average college student, and I'd never consider it as a daily driver. I'd vote for the Evolution just because i can see it as a daily driver.

HOLY CRAP! A turning radius of only 17.3! Is that right??? If it is, that is insane (as compared to our car having something like 33).

If I really had this choice, I would probably get the Evo, because it is more practical. But, since there is no way that this could be a possibility in my life anytime soon, and just for sheer speed on the street, I voted GTR. That car is just sick.

cupoznj said : this is crap. evo is a rally car, gt-r is bordering on super car except that it is made in japan with horsepower laws. one has a twin turbo 4, the other is a flat 6. as mentioned before, i don't ****ing care how much heavier the gtr is, can you get the EVO to 700+ hp??

what i wanna know it, which one is a twin turbo 4, and which one is a flat 6 ?

gtr is a twin turbo straight 6, and the evo is a single turbo inline 4
