Just a little tidbit, the 1989-1990 R32 GTR actually weighs less then the Evo 8. It tips the scales at 3146lbs.

Id take a Skyline over my Evo anyday. oh yeah isnt $90,000 how much it cost to get the SKyline in the US. I thought they ran for close to 40,000 in japan. All i know is that you can find some super cheap used skylines in japan and when i say super cheap i mean 9,000 cheap.

Want a 2 year old BNR34 GTR V Spec? That will cost you around $90,000 in the US after importing and all that jazz.

Want a 1992 BNR32 GT-R? That's more like $25,000 after legalization.

How has this discussion even gone on for 80 posts? Unless there was some hijack that took place in the first 2 pages that I haven't seen.

GET IT RIGHT
THE EVO IS A 13 second car when you guys launch right!!!
www.motortrend.com
you guys are ignoring the push button spray.
I have acually been to japan and the Evo is more popular there. The Evo is faster in stock vs stock form and has rally wins. Rally is not as big here...

Even in Japan, the pricing could still have a major affect on the popularity. Civics are popular here.

I am not saying that I don't like the Evo. I love it, every bit of it. I also love the Skyline. I don't think I could give up my Evo for a Skyline though. I have been a huge DSM fan for a long time now. I had a feeling the Evo would eventually make it over here, and I guess I was right.

Even with SATAN's reputation, I still remain brand loyal.

Hmm...That last statement of mine would make a pretty damn good quote for a signature, huh?

HELLO people, it depends where i lived at. If i lived in Japan id get the skyline cause its only 40,000 IN Japan. If i lived in the i wouldnt get a Skyline cause 90,000 is just outrageous compared to my 30,000 evo. Wish people would get it right and know that the Skyline is a awesome car but doesnt cost 90,000 thats Ferriari territory, it only cost that much in the states and not over seas..

A Skyline doesn't have to cost $90,000 here, either.

If you go to MotoRex, they'll gladly charge you $90,000 or so.

Try Omega Skylines. They are like half the price. Yeah, you have to do the legalization yourself and it will cost about $10,000 for that alone.....But the Skylines they sell start out at like $17,000.

So, like I said before.....

The skyline will destry the evo. It doesn't take much to break 500whp on a skyline, but it's much harder to get one
It is a completely different car of course, but the rb26dett is a fine piece of machinery. it would be a more fair comparison to say... the silvia or another sr20det powered car.. my .02

Well in the road course, wouldn't it be a close call?

Skyline of course weighs more than the Evo, so wouldn't the Evo have an advantage?
