If you hate front wheel drive, why did you buy the Eclipse? There are so many other decent rwd cars out there: S2000, RX8, 350z. While I think the car is decent, the front wheel drive absolutely ruins the car.

Well phonetics aside for the moment *L*, I had one out for an extensive test drive yesterday and this car does have some decent pop to it! 1st gear is all but useless, even with traction control! Got rubber in 4 gears no problem. Nice fat mid-range with decent pull all the way to redline. People have ragged on the car for it's size and weight, and while it certainly can't be confused with a Miata, funny thing is once under way all that size and heft shrink down nicely and the car is fun to throw around.

Likes:

- lots of power
- slick shifter
- decent handling
- AWESOME stereo for a stock setup (car had the Rockford Fosgate upgrade)
- a real looker

Dislikes:

- TOO quiet in the engine/exhaust dept (yes I turned off the stereo *L*)
- loooong clutch throws, kinda takes away from the slick shifter action
- torque steer in 1st gear
- price

I'm sure when someone introduces a supercharger or turbo kit for this car that makes over 400hp, people will think different. All that really needs to be done is lightening the car up.. and thats easier than trying to make more hp. Strip it, replace components with CF, lighter rims/tires, etc..
