Anyone with at least 26 brain cells left knows this though wheter they will admit it or not is another story. Don't misunderstand me, I love bikes. Have owned over 25 of them, raced them as a pro, sold them for a living for years. BUT, I no longer own one because the risk is not worth it. I have seen more of my friends die on motorcycles than anything else, period. This statement; "Sure you're more likely to live in a car crash......cuz you're going so friggin' slow" is just plain ignorant. Try running your bike into a wall at nice slow 30mph and see if you live......chances are very high that you won't. On the other hand in a car, chances are very high that you will. Not trying to flame you here but do want to try and keep the facts clear, ride a bike and your about 25 times more likely to die on said bike than you would be in a car, it's just that simple.

as for the bike question....
Don't kid yourself, you're FAR more likely to have a fatal accident in a bike, no matter what speed. When I work with the transplant team you wouldn't believe how many organs are from bike accidents. We call them "donor carts".

I never said that bikes weren't more likely to be involved fatal accidents.......you have no protection on your bike so any small incident is potentially fatal. Motorcycles were called "dumb and dangerous" in an earlier post and that's what I disagreed with. I've looked up DMV stats before and it was something like 60% of all motorcycle accidents were single vehicle accidents where the idiot just ran off the road from going too fast or doing something else stupid where they just crashed themselves. If you drive normally and extra-cautiously on a bike you have much less to worry about. And again, in reference to those new statistics showing motorcycle related deaths on the rise, they don't take into account the steep rise in the actual number of motorcycles being sold so the rise in deaths could very well be proportional to the number of motorcycles or maybe actually be less deaths as a percentage of bikes on the road......but of course they left that part out because of their agenda to portray bikes as being too unsafe for our roads....and that's just wrong.

Yeah fastest COrvette in history! Damn that thing is mean! Wish I could have one. I read in Motor Trend they do 200 mph top speed...maybe more!
