Sold the EVO...need suggestions.

Well, since I lost my job, it has been hard making ends meet with payments of the car and cc bills..so I decided to sell my evo about 3 weeks ago. Trust me, I didn't wanna sell at all, but when it comes down to having to eat ramen noodles..thats a sign to change my habits..haha.

It's pretty heavily modified and I had great offer and couldnt pass it up

My 03 sold for $29,000 I recieved the deposit, and now just paperwork and other things need to be worked out with the buyer, then its gone.

Now that I am not making the kind of money I used to, I am in the market for a car.

I need your help suggesting...I'm looking to spend $15k-$22k (I can bend very little obove that figure) on a NEW car or very slightly used. I am looking for a reliable, gas-sipping, comfortable car...an everyday daily driver that will NOT be modified. I have a down payment of about $1500-$2000.

My 1st choices are: Scion tC, Scion xB, 06 Civic SI or a Mazda 3....any others I should consider in this price range?

Thanks guys/girls!

Thank you sir. But the reason why I said TC's are a waste is cuz my Evo is in the shop right now and I have to drive around a TC for the mean time. The car handles like a salami and the cockpit just feels un natural. The shifter is about 2 ft long. It's just a wierd car all around. If you drive one, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, pain in the *** as in you'll get *** raped with the long term maintenance. They are a pretty nice car tho'.

If I were looking in that price range I'd look at the Civic Si. reasonable power and they'll probably be pretty tossable.

I was thinking not too long ago what I would get If I had to "downgrade" to a cheaper car to save money. The new civic Si looks really promising, or a used S2000. My brother drives a 98 TypeR... cleans up at the autox events, Would be a good used car. New VW GTI 2.0 FSI too...
