With the Challenger and Camaro that is. I like the look of the 2, but ever notice the bodies look almost the same? Anyway these 2 will be monsters. The Hemi Charger is already an impressive performer but is heavy. If Dodge stuffs that bad boy into the smaller Challenger it will rip. And how about the Camaro with the 400hp LS2? Both Dodge and Chevy will have 6 liter blocks making 400hp, 425 for the Hemi and the Mustang makes 305hp. Ford will no longer be a loner in the ponycar market.
True there is the 475hp Cobra, but that is a specialty car, made by SVT. Like imagine a new Camaro SS, or an upgraded Challenger? Besides the Cobra geared more to the ZO6 and its price range. The Challenger and Camaro should be affordable like the Mustang.

The mustang is the only ponycar. Pony, horse, mustang, get it?????
The camaro and challenger are not associated to any ponies.
Anywayz, who cares about muscle cars??? This site is about
evo's with compressors, the replacement for displacement!
Well this is in Other cars section...
Anyway hasn't the mustang always been underpowered compared to the others so these cars coming back really doesn't change anything. Women love mustangs and they buy them so unless Camaros and Challengers get women shoppers mustangs will rule.

Even though the Mustang has been underpowered (except for the supercharged Cobra) over the years vs. the competition (Z28), they still outsold the bowtie brand 4:1 over the last generation. And that my friends, is all the accountants and execs at Ford care about. Besides, the Sheby GT500 should have enough ponies to put the new kids on the block in their place.
The challenger srt and charger srt are the tops in the Charger / Challegner line up. They both have base models.
Like the Mustang GT and the Mustang Cobra. The Cobra is the tops.
The new Cobra, "Shelby" is going to be about $45k and with 475hp, if its anything like the last Cobra,,,, 390hp...... The new Shelby should be rated at 500+...
Same engine as the Ford GT......and that thing put down just about what it was rated at 550hp.
So yea The Mustang can play with the others,,,,,, just compare apples and apples.
More than likely the Mustang cobra will walk all over each of these cars you have mentioned.
Side thought............ 500hp on factory stock street cars?????????
This is going to be the norm here soon.......WHY?
You only get so many points on your liscence....... then your taking your bicycle to and fro.

I'm pretty sure the Shelby GT500 does not have the ford GT engine, but does share the same cylinder heads. AND the Challenger will be offered with an optional 500 HP from the factory according to last month's C&D or Motortrend pumping through a new v8 (not the viper motor). Just straightening out some facts.
